A MAN has been arrested over a £7,900 jewellery robbery in Sevenoaks which injured an elderly woman. Police officers followed an anonymous tip-off on Friday (August 16) and have arrested a 26-year-old in connection to an incident which happened in July 2012. A ring valued at almost £8,000 was stolen from Francis Jones jewellers in Sevenoaks High Street at around 10.45am. And when the suspect fled the scene, he pushed an 85-year-old woman to the floor, leaving her needing hip surgery. The offence featured on BBC Crimewatch in the spring, and then again on the Crimewatch Roadshow in June. And now a man from Dartford has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He was released on bail until September 27 while the investigation continues. Detective Constable Claire Beckett from Kent Police said: "The information we received has helped us to progress the investigation and interview a suspect in connection with the offence. "We are always really grateful for the help and information we get from members of the public when we appeal for assistance and they play a really important role in helping us investigate crime."
